Quantitative : 30 Minutes 30 Questions
Reasoning / Analytical : 25 Minutes 25 Questions
Verbal English : 25 Minutes 25 Questions
Technical : 20 Minutes 20 Questions

Group Discussion was basically an HR round where 12 candidates were asked to form a group and each group had to solve 12 case studies. The total time duration to solve 12 case studies was 72 minutes. One must have good communication skills. The confidence level of students was at stake.

1. For Freshers: CGPA>6.0
2. For one year gap: CGPA>7.0

Maximum areas covered in mechanical engineering were from Fluid Mechanics and Power Plant Engineering. The practical knowledge about the working of Power Plant is important to know.

Very few questions from HR were asked, namely: Introduce yourself and What have you learned during the tenure of engineering?

Do's:
1. Do maintain a CGPA above 7.5
2. Do have a strong technical knowledge.
3. Do have a good communication skills.
4. Work on your confidence level.
Dont's:
1. Dont try to fool the interviewer i.e. if you don't know any answer, do admit it honestly
2. Dont worry, it can be achieved

The eligible branches were Electrical, Mechanical and Civil and around 180 students from KIIT University were eligible out of which 72 qualified for GD round and then 32 made it to the PI and finally 17 were selected.
If you have good technical knowledge, good communication skills, good confidence level, some extra curricular activities then you would definitely make it to TATA POWER
