Pattern of Written Test

Aptitude Test : 45 Minutes
Quantitative : 0 Minutes
Reasoning / Analytical : 0 Minutes
Verbal English : 0 Minutes
Technical : 45 Minutes
Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
The questions were basically divided into three rounds in the online written test namely C, flow charts and general
aptitude. There were also some questions on DBMS. Don't worry about the questions as they could be solved with a
little thinking and fast calculation. I concentrated more on aptitude rather than technical. There also a need to
understand the flow charts. All the different sections were to be solved in there stipulated time. Basic C language
knowledge is required to get short listed for interview.

Technical Interview

I had three rounds of technical interview. I was asked two puzzles in first and some basic data structures like tree
and link list. Both of the puzzles, which were asked, were known to me earlier, so I solved them fast. This made a
good impression on the first interviewer. Then I was asked about strings in the second round. I was also to find out
number of squares on the chess board. I answered all the questions very confidently. Though I’m not a great
programmer, I knew the logic of most of the questions, which again was added advantage. The interviewer was
rather never convinced with my answers. He also asked me to swap two numbers without using new variable. All
the questions were very basic and just tested the problem solving ability. Second round went on for almost two
hours. Then I made it to third round, which was rather technical “ECE” round. I was asked about DMA, 4 by 4
keyboard interface with 8086 and astable multivibrator. I was also asked about why I want to join the company. I
would rather advice you all to prepare an impressive answer to this question. This round went on for one hour.

HR Interview

My third round was more or less a HR round. Still there was a HR round which did not last for more than 15
minutes. It ended early because I gave them impressive reasons for selecting me. One most important question
was why I wanted to take a Software even after studying 4 years in ECE. This is the most important question which
was asked in all rounds. There was no other tough question in this round.

Suggestion

I would like to advice everyone that to be strong in your fundamentals. Moreover Oracle is the right place for people
who think logically and think different. Moreover, people who are not having good software coding knowledge, I
advice them to learn the algorithms and basic working of all the data structures. moreover,i advice all the "ECE"
guys to be strong in fundamentals about microprocessor Op-Amp and some misc topics. I would like to remind
everyone that you don’t need to be a master in syntax to get in Oracle. Good luck…….all the best to you all….c u at

No. of Candidate applied And Points that Worked in Favour

It was quite a tiresome process because it lasted for whole day. But still I thought I should get the job when I
cleared the second round of “strings”. I answered all the questions frankly and logically. I learned that they are in
need of thinkers. Though my programming skill were not very good, I felt happy when one of the interviewers told
me that I think analytical. At the end of the day, it was the moment of life time for me.
