A BRAIN TEASURES:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
A goes to a shop & buy a pepsi of Rs20. A gives 100 rupees note to shopkeeper B.
B doesn't have change so B went to C to get change. Now B returns Rs80 to A and a pepsi. Later C comes to B & says that 100 rupees note is fake. So B had to give Rs100 to C. NOW what is the total loss of B?

rs 100 which B gave to C later + Rs 80 which B gave to A + Rs 20 for the pepsi B gave to A = Rs 200

CpjJwWHV   @moumita....200 is wrong.....rs 100 which B is giving to C is the same amount B brought from C by giving a fake note of 100.

CpjJwWHV   total loss is rs 100 or (rs 80 +1 pepsi) which B gave to A.........and remember B has just cleared his transaction with C by returning him his Rs 100

CpjJwWHV   B took 100 from C and later returned the same to C so no loss no profit....... now B gave 80 to A and also the pepsi of 20 so loss is 100

CpjJwWHV   Total loss of B is <= Rs120. As Rs 20 is the selling price of Pepsi but its cost price may be less than Rs 20.

CpjJwWHV   120. one Pepsi for 20, and 100 given to C.

CpjJwWHV   can anyone tell me the correct ans??????
14 years ago
CpjJwWHV   hey people .... please don't confuse everyone....the correct answer is Rs100 or Rs80+1pepsi...people who are unable to understand the solution can practically apply this among a group of three people to understand it.

CpjJwWHV   @Jaya brother the correct answer is a loss of Rs.100.
No let me explain you why is it so.
A gave Rs.100 and received Rs.80 along with one Pepsi.
A must be happy with what he got.

Now B got a change of Rs.100 from C and returned Rs.80 to A. He sold the Pepsi for Rs.20 and received the honest margin on the bottle of Pepsi as per the difference between the Cost price and Selling price of Pepsi.

C was neutral, as inturn of Rs.100 note he returned change, until he found the note to be fake. He returned Rs.100 Note to B and got another Note from him.

Now B is unhappy as he had to give an original note worth Rs.100 to C and all that he left with was a fake note of Rs.100 so he had a loss of Rs.100...

I hope i have made myself clear .
